AC MOTORS

Flanders Electric repairs, sells, and manufactures AC motors in all shapes and sizes. Induction motors, wound rotor induction motors, and synchronous motors are all included as part of the Flanders Electric offering. With in-house coils manufacturing up to 13.8 KV and 100 ton crane capacity, no AC motor is too large.

Flanders proprietary coil manufacturing process incorporates Class H insulating materials and resins that provide a 100% void free insulation systems. Rigorous testing of coils by ISO9001:2000 documented procedures are conducted throughout the manufacturing and rewinding processes. Extensive final testing is performed on finished product and full voltage test running up to 13.8 KV is performed on every new or repaired AC motor.

With today’s AC drive technology, induction AC motors are finding many new applications formerly limited only to DC machines by speed/torque requirements. AC drives with AC induction motor designs by Flanders are now used in the mining and metals industries, as well as specialized marine duty propulsion motors and in general industry. New motors are manufactured by our custom motor department in Evansville Indiana. AC motor repairs are conducted at all Flanders service centers. In addition to the Flanders manufactured custom motors, Flanders also represents many OEM lines of AC motors including Toshiba, Siemens, Baldor/Reliance, GE, WEG, Leeson, Century, Marathon, AOSmith, and others.

Synchronous motors for MG Sets and Ball Mills are also routine jobs at all Flanders facilities, as well as wound rotor motors for belt line and conveyor systems.
