CAPABILITIES

The capabilities of Flanders Electric’s Motor Manufacturing Division are vast and varied. These capabilities were originally developed to provide the highest quality components as demanded by our repair facilities. Flanders inherent philosophy of minimizing dependence on outside resources drove the development of total "in-house" component manufacturing for obsolete or long lead-time motor components. Customer demand evolved these capabilities into complete motor design and manufacturing.

An extensive array of both CNC and manual machine tools provide mechanical components on demand. Flanders experienced machinists and fabricators produce high quality mechanical components with accuracy and efficiency. With lathes and vertical boring machines exceeding four meters of swing, motor frames and armatures are readily fabricated in our Evansville facility.

Our laser shop developed as an extension of the machining capabilities. Today, three computer controlled, X-Y coordinate lasers turn AutoCAD™ drawings into motor laminations and other sheet metal components at a moment’s notice. Our In-House Commutator Manufacturing ranges from 6” to 50” brush diameters. We have the equipment to manufacture the largest commutators of up to 116 ½” brush diameters.

The original coil manufacturing shop began as support for motor repairs. Now four distinct coil processing lines eliminate bottlenecks and allow for quick changeover for different products.

Our In-House Commutator Manufacturing ranges from 6” to 50” brush diameters. We have the equipment to manufacture the largest commutators of up to 116 ½” brush diameters.

A large facility infrastructure includes overhead bridge crane capacity to 110 tons and a full load test center for motors up to 13.8KV AC & 1000V DC

A dedicated staff of motor design engineers both start and complete the circle. A step above the classic desktop engineer, Flanders motor designers don’t just make it "look good on paper", but also consult with Flanders experienced staff of repair and service professionals to ensure reliable maintainability.
